Analysts Foresee an Explosion of Apps for 2010

The International Data Corporation (IDC) has recently published its list of tech-related predictions for the coming year.  What struck the most is their statement that year 2010 will be the year of the app.  Although it may appear to be common nowadays, the analysts over at IDC say that it is just the beginning.

The coming year, according to the IDC report, “will be a watershed year in the ascension of mobile devices as strategic platforms for commercial and enterprise developers as over 1 billion access the Internet, iPhone apps triple, Android apps quintuple, and Apple’s iPad arrives.” Read the rest of this entry »

FCC Approves Google Phone with T-Mobile

After days of speculation, the rumors about the Google Phone slowly come to reality as the Federal Communications Commission approved with full legitimacy the HTC Nexus One.  The FCC documents also reveal that the phone will support North American GSM bands as well as T-Mobile’s 1700 3G network, in contrast to Google’s previous announcements that Nexus One will be sold as an unlocked phone.

The documents also show a hint of specs featured on Nexus One, including hearing aid support, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth connectivity, and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi. Read the rest of this entry »

Metro Pink Cosmopolitan Phone

Today’s phones can be a bit boring, that is, if you are in color. I mean, what with all the stuck-up, blah-looking gray? Good thing this phone is quirky in a pretty pink!

Metro Pink Cosmopolitan is “girlified” Cellphone version of Metro, which has gained quite a following in China. It has a unique 2.8-inch QVGA screen that shows a swivel QWERTY keyboard after turning around the screen. Metro Pink Cosmopolitan comes as an open, quad-band, dual-SIM phone, providing better coverage and freedom to choose up to two wireless networks that you want to register. It also has built in the mirror in the back of the rotary screen for quick touch-ups and also serves as a monitor “preview”, you get people with her digital camera photos, which also doubles as a camcorder.
